Anne Marie Stilwell, MD is a double board-certified Interventional Pain Management Specialist and Anesthesiologist with over 25 years of clinical experience, dedicated to helping Staten Islanders live pain-free lives. As the CEO, President, and Medical Director of Still Well Pain Management, Dr. Stilwell is a trusted leader in the field of interventional pain medicine, with a reputation for delivering personalized and effective care.
A graduate of the University of Rochester School of Medicine, Dr. Stilwell completed her residency in Anesthesiology at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. She was the first fellow to train at the prestigious Tri-Institutional Interventional Pain Management Fellowship, which includes rotations at leading institutions such as Weill Cornell Medicine, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and the Hospital for Special Surgery. She is among the first physicians in the United States to earn board certification in Interventional Pain Management.
Over the course of her distinguished career, Dr. Stilwell has conducted more than 150,000 patient visits and performed over 50,000 interventional procedures, including epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks, spinal cord stimulation, and radiofrequency ablation. In 2015, she expanded her practice to include regenerative medicine treatments such as Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) and Cellular Therapies to help patients heal from injuries and degenerative conditions of the spine, joints, and tendons.
Dr. Stilwell is also a published author and a recognized expert in opioid misuse prevention, contributing to clinical publications and initiatives such as New York City's I-STOP Law. She has served as a Medical Coordinator for the New York State Department of Health Office of Professional Medical Conduct, where she investigates and advises on matters of professional medical standards and patient safety.
Her commitment to excellence has been consistently recognized, earning her honors such as Castle Connolly Top Doctor (2009–Present) and inclusion in New York Magazine's “Top Doctors” list for multiple years. In 2019, Dr. Stilwell was named a Woman of Distinction by New York State Women, Inc., for her contributions to medicine and her dedication to the Staten Island community.
Beyond the office, Dr. Stilwell enjoys spending time with her husband, four children, her mother, and her siblings. She is passionate about community involvement, wellness, and living a balanced life that includes exercise, yoga, travel, and beachside relaxation.
